Catastrophe is a noun and its definition is a sudden and widespread disaster. It can also be any misfortune,mishap, or failure. A catastrophe can be a earthquake just like the one that just happened in Haiti. It can also be that you forgot your homework and without it you cant pass the class. The whole day can be a catastrophe for you. An example in a sentence: The play was so poor our whole evening was a catastrophe. Another example of a catastrophe is 2012. Supposibily in 2012 alot of a angry mother nature will happen such as earthquakes,hurricanes,thunder storms, & tornadoes on December 21,2012. I think that if you believe in the Mayan callender you should quit your job and spend all your money on a huge vacation.Me personally I will go wherever God guides me.I think I'm getting a bit off topic so bottom line Catastrophe is a horrible thing.
